Marilyn teaches piano to students of all ages and experience levels. So whether you are encouraging your own child to begin lessons, or are a transfer student new to the area, or an adult that wishes to begin lessons or to improve your current skill level, you will find Marilyn a good match for you. She adapts the lessons and methods to fit each student’s needs and learning style. She is comfortable with many genres including classical and jazz. She has taught private lessons for many years, so she has a wealth of experiences that will benefit you.
Marilyn also enjoys playing piano in a variety of ensembles. She accompanies choirs as well as studio recitals and solo and ensemble festivals. She has experience playing piano in a 1920’s-40’s dance band, a ragtime ensemble, private parties & weddings, and community theater productions. When she is not at the piano she is at her day job of teaching general music and chorus with Fairfax County Public Schools. Marilyn is a member of the Northern Virginia Music Teacher Association and of the Music Teacher National Association.
